Pierce Ledbetter is CEO of LEDIC Management Group, a fee manager of over 25,000 apartments located across the Southeast.
Having literally grown up in and around the multifamily housing business, Pierce is only 38 years old, yet his career already spans several real estate development cycles. Pierce’s early career began in junior high school, renovating single family homes with his father for rental, at a time when treasury rates were increasing toward all time record highs. Through college, and post tax reform, Pierce worked through every apartment position available at LEDIC, from maintenance tech to asset manager of REO’s.
In 1990, Pierce graduated from Cornell University and returned to Memphis as Financial Analyst for LEDIC Management Group, where he was responsible for asset management and programmed computer software to aide in reappraisal analysis of all apartments in Memphis.
During the mid-90’s, Pierce evolved what began as a weekend hobbyist’s passion for the environment into a full fledged recycling and technology business. As CEO of ZooDoo®, Pierce developed a profitable, national consumer brand. In 1997, Pierce sold the brand but kept an online retailing technology he had developed, which was then later sold to several dot com companies competing in online music.
In 2001, with the music economy slowing, Pierce returned to real estate and Memphis. As Marketing Analyst with CB Richard Ellis Memphis Multifamily (CBRE), he analyzed and improved existing marketing methods and underwriting models. This timing was fortuitous, as he helped CBRE Multifamily position itself for the largest volume growth in its history.
In 2003, Pierce took on new business development responsibilities for LEDIC Management Group and was quickly promoted to Managing Director. In December 2005, Pierce was promoted to CEO, the position he holds today.
Pierce is married, and the father of three. He is an active civic volunteer and currently serves on the Board of the Children’s Museum of Memphis. Prior civic Board positions include Memphis Botanic Garden, Playhouse on the Square, and the Wolf River Conservancy.
